The party has arrived, and it’s a masquerade!
I chose this subject for this card because the masquerade ball is full of all of the people who built and designed our circus. This event was a celebration of the anniversary, and no one was to be left out. The party encompasses all that they have accomplished and the potential for what is to come
The Page of Swords is the next card in the deck.
I chose this content for this card because Marco’s book is an essential piece to the story and the circus as a whole. Marco’s process involves gathering knowledge, and recording it in a way that he can use for future spells, learning, etc.

August is all of sudden here, and I feel like I missed July. Looking back, it was a pretty busy time, so let’s dive right in!
To start off, a pretty big thing happened in the Hues & Tones studio. I was accepted into the Adobe Community Exports program. I am still getting familiar with all of the interfaces, but I can’t wait to get rolling on all of this!
This month was also a big one for the shop! I was accepted for another season in The Barntique! I will be upgrading my space so that I can provide even more beautiful products for you lovely seasonal shoppers.
I was also able to attend the Wildflowers Brews & Blooms market and it was a hit! I made a lot of fantastic connections, enjoyed the scenery, and had the most fabulous support assistance. This was a lot of fun for sure.
On the livestream end of things, the Creative Jams collaborative streams will be on hiatus until the Fall. I am taking a bit of a break over the summer to prep for the holidays and enjoy the sunshine. Don’t worry, I will be back as soon as I can with more fabulous streamers.
The Creativity Talks stream will still be running every Monday at 7PM EST on all of my channels!
And all of the Vector Magic files are getting their final touches and will be available for download… and… We have some big announcements coming on this front so be sure to be following DTM and I on all the socials to get the scoop.
Like I said, it’s been a busy month! We are full steam ahead into preparation for the holidays. Definitely follow along to be sure that you don’t miss a thing. Here’s where you can find me and all of my updates:
June was a really busy month. A lot of what I have been prepping for has been kicked off, is wrapping up, or starting to see the finish line. There’s a lot of really exciting things going on so I will just dive right in…
The excitement continues with Hues & Tones at the Barntique. With summer tourist season picking up, we are seeing a lot of traffic at the venue. I’ve loved putting together a new set of curated products each month for customers to enjoy. It has been a great experience to be amongst the greatest vendors and creators the area has to offer. I have just set up a new set of products, so don’t wait and go in for a visit when you can.
I have been keeping my online shop up to date with products as they are available. I do throw in a few sale items now and again, so definitely keep checking in to see what we have available.
My first market of the year was on June 20th. The Vintage & Vinyl night at Wildflowers Farm was a success! I had the most fun out there. My friend Casey came out to help and it made the night even more special for me. I had my first experience of return customers, people who were familiar with my work… what??!?! It was a really great night.
The next market where you can find Hues & Tones will be back at Wildflowers again. I will be doing another Friday After Dark event, and the theme will be Brews & Blooms, on July 25th. I have a few brand new designs coming out specifically for this market. I am so excited for them and can’t wait for you to stop by and see. Make sure to say hi, I love meeting new creative fans!
I received another bit of exciting news for “Hues & Tones Out in the World”. I will be starting off my Fall Season with Locally Made’s Cozy Coven Market. This will be your first chance to see tarot content in person. I will have bookmarks, prints, and individual cards on hand for purchase (the full deck is still a ways off). I also have a few magical pieces and bundles on the way that I am dancing in my seat with excitement to share them with you. In the live stream world, we had the most exciting guest on Creative Jams this week! Elisandra Lopes blessed us with her beautiful voice and we were able to work on our King of Hearts card together. It was so amazing having Elisandra with us, if you missed the episode, check it out here!
In two weeks, I will be having another familiar face join me for the next episode. Happening July 7th, you won’t want to miss this one. It will be a great guest, and full of delicious announcements!
Other than those few things, the studio remains a busy place. I am looking forward to the fall and winter season to see where I can get ahead of schedule. I have so many fantastic ideas, and I can’t wait to share them all with you. I hope that your summer is starting off great, can’t wait to see you out there!
The next tent card in the deck is the 5 of Wands. Inspired by the Big Cats tent in the book, we have a few fierce felines on the prowl, ready to perform!
The final design of this card came out pretty nicely. I think that our lion jumps right off of the page, and really hints at what would surely be a really exciting show to watch.

Are you all buried in the snow like we are right now? I think that I am the only one living for this haha. I am enjoying being snowed in while I write this, getting some studio magic done with no pressures to go outside. Full creative mode initiated! Here’s what we have on the go.
The livestreams have been off to a great start this year. We are seeing some familiar faces, some faces we have been missing, and some new faces which is always fun! I have been splitting my streams with all the tarot cards, and the collaboration face cards. So much fun! To check these out I am on Facebook, Twitch and YouTube every Monday at 7PM EST. Come join the chat and even some of the projects!
Last month I also mentioned some dual streams. There’s finally been some momentum on that front as well. We have a new stream of episodes coming from Hues & Tones in March. Watch on Facebook and Instagram to see when and where you can be a part of these amazing streams. I have been talking with some wonderful artists, and I can’t wait to get going. I received a HUGE piece of news right after the last newsletter. My products are going to be available at The Barntique in Simcoe, ON this season. Starting March 28 through to the end of August, you’ll be able to purchase my products on site. This will be a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and explore all varieties of beautiful artists from across the area.
I have also made some updates to the website! You’ll see some products that will be COMING SOON. I am mid-research on all of these, and I am close to making some supplier decisions. Once these are ready to go, I will be launching them. Please monitor the socials to see when and where you can grab some of your own premium Hues & Tones products.
Hues & Tones is also going to be out in the world again this year, in a few capacities. Some market applications are in, and there are more solid dates to come. I am also talking with a few different brick and mortar shops on some potential collaborations. Watch on the socials to see where you can find Hues & Tones in 2025.

The next card in the deck is the Queen of Cups. Inspired by a moment with the subject of our Justice card, this card brings us peace and tranquility with a beautiful cup of tea.
I chose this subject matter for this card as the Queen of Cups is the card of compassion, intuition and going with the flow. The story being told through this scene is meant to guide and direct one of our main characters in a difficult challenge. Our Justice brings compassion and understanding to the situation in a well meaning and balanced way.

Read moreThe next card in our deck is the 8 of wands! Inspired by a tent stocked with jars full of memories, this card is definitely the full of magic.
The content of the card needed to be legible, yet cluttered. Clear, yet unorganized. Having a card with so much similar content proved to challenge the paper layering idea that I had for the other cards. I added in a little bit of furniture to make sure that we had a layered effect, which also helped to show the level of cluttered that this tent was. There are memory jars EVERYWHERE!

We are hitting the ground running, using the momentum we had from 2024. I have a lot of fun planned this year, keep following along to see how you can join in.
I am continuing with my livestreams this year. Continuing on Mondays at 7PM EST. Here we will be covering any work that is happening in the studio at the moment. I am looking to add another day of the week to my schedule, but I want to get the year up and running first so I can find the best spot.
Running off of the momentum of the Behance shutdown stream, I am going to start doing some dual streams with my fellow creators. Some messages have been sent out and plans are going to kick into place starting in March. If you want to be a part of those streams, send me a note and we will get something booked in.
